Comets and Silver Shooting Star Bowl
I bathe under the stars each night.
A dark tree line rings my farm.
I imagine the stars and comets breaking through the night sky.
This porcelain bowl was hand built and hand carved from slab porcelain clay.
It was painted with mason stains, underglaze and gilded.
It was bisqued and fired to cone 6.
The walnut base was finished, hand oiled and rubbed.
The walnut base was then routed into to fit the bowl’s base.
The bowl was secured into it.
Then the feet were attached to it.
The Argentium silver shooting star was hand cut and finished - then mounted through the bowl.
